Abstract
Integrated Rehabilitation Information System (IRIS) was designed for medical administration in the Department of Rehabilitation at a medical center in Taiwan. The IRIS includes patient management system (registration, bill, appointment, and declaration for health insurance payments, etc), order entry system (pharmacy system, laboratory request system, radiology request system ), rehabilitation system for physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, splint, prosthesis and orthosis, electric medical record system for therapists, check out system for time and frequency of therapy, and statistic function system. The efficiency of operation and cost– benefit efficacy were much appreciated after using IRIS. We suggest that IRIS could be widely used at rehabilitation clinics to promote efficiency and efficacy.
