Abstract

The present hospital accreditation in Department of Rehabilitation in Taiwan is emphasized in assessing hospital structure instead of total quality consideration.The purpose of this study is to establish a new quality oriented model for hospital accreditatin in department of rehabilitation according to the quality assurance model by Donabedian including structure, process and outcome basis. In this study , an assessment questionnaire for accreditation was designed by Delphi method. The author suggests that hospital accreditation for Department of Rehabilitation should include process and outcome components in addition to structure, and a wide survey of hospital accreditation in Department of Rehabilitation should be done in order to promote health care quality.
