Abstract
The survey of dancing injury in the special dancing class of a primary school was done on 1990. From 108 effective questionare, the prevalence of dancing injury was 77.78% in which 11.54% became chronic.In the 59 girls of grade 5, 6 students, the most frequent injury area was ankle 34.48%, next was the knee 20.2% and inner thigh muscle 11.72%. The causes of the injury were 1) unenough warm up (47.61%) 2) poor dancing floor (29.76%) 3) over training (13.09%). After injury, most of the children rested less than 3 days, and most of them received herbs medicine, only 7.37% seeked help from modern medicine. Repeated injury was 26.87%. The ankle and knee are the most frequent repeated injury area. The muschuloskeletal system of the children are in developing stage- We needs to pay more attention to prevent from dancing injury. Proper treatment concept also needs to emphasize thus to ensure their future dancing life.
