Abstract
Much has been done about the severe acute cervical neurotrauma resulting from athletic participations such as football, water sports, gymnastics, rugby and ice hocky. In this paper, we present some aspects of the chronic cervical neurotrauma which is mainly resulted from the repetitive micro-trauma to the cervical spine.4 cases with chief complaint of chronic neck pain were evaluated by various image studies and definite pathology of their cervical spine was found later. We also surveyed the concepts about sports injury of 86 students study in a junior college of gymnastics and found that there exists something requesting our attention, that is, we must try our best to teach the young athletes a more correct concept about the sports injury to save them from getting hurt in the athletic participation. An aggressive rehabilitation program for neck injury reviewed by Don Fitz- Ritson was introduced here, which consists of 1.pain reduction 2.mobilization 3.manipulation and 4.rehabilitation, further details are included in the text.
