慢性阻塞性肺疾患者心肺訓練新模式之療效

Abstract

This study evaluated a novel exercise training program for the individuals diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.Although sixteen patients (M:13; F:3) with moderate chronic obstructive pulmonary disease participated in this study, only six completed the training programs. Cycle ergometry was used to test and train the patients. The training was performed three times weekly and lasted three months, with each training section lasting 30 to 40 minutes. As obtained from cycle ergometry, the training intensity accounted for 40 %, 60%, and 80% of the maximum work rate in the first two weeks, the following 3 to 6 weeks. and the last 6 weeks, respectively. During the test or training program, low flow oxygen was supplied to maintain the oxygen saturation of the patients for above 90 % in the test and 88% in the training. The results indicated that the maximum work rate of the six training patients whom completed the programs increased from 73.3 + 28.8 watts to 91.7 + 31.8 watts with a statistical significance (P=0.028). However, the six patients did not significantly differ in terms of the spirometric indices and the six minute walking test. Results in this study demonstrate that this novel exercise training program based on the maximal work rate is simple and effective for the patients diagnosed with moderate chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
